2014 and earlier work
This piece is one of Janet's larger coiled vessels. The rotundity of the body of the pot contrasts with the movement in the line of the rim which leads the eye to the interior.
Coiled pots using volume and line. The ragged edges of the rims were created by tearing the clay to create contrast with the smooth, rounded exterior.
An arrangement in one of Janet's pots shown at an Ikebana International exhibition at the Museum of Nature in Ottawa, Ontario in 2012.
This pot is intended to express relationships in form which create visual energy.
